Diagnostic hearing testing may be requested by a physician to determine the best treatment plan for the patient. Patients who have completed testing, or who are not candidates for medical or surgical treatment, may benefit from hearing amplification devices such as hearing aids or other products suitable for their individual needs. We can help by testing and recommending potential solutions.

Audiology appointments for diagnostic hearing testing or hearing aid services can be also made through the offices of Dr. Beaton. A medical referral and diagnosis however are not required for hearing testing. We do request that you sign a medical clearance or a waiver form before a hearing aid can be dispensed.

Diagnostic Testing: We can perform special hearing testing upon physician referral to assist the physician in making medical and surgical decisions for hearing or balance problems. Commonly used procedures may include:

  • Comprehensive Hearing Evaluation - Pure Tone and Speech
  • Hearing Reflex Testing
  • Tympanometry

Pediatric Hearing Testing: We work with other pediatric specialists and instrumental testing may include:

  • Conditioning Play Audiometry
  • Visual Reinforcement Audiometry
  • Tympanometry

Hearing Aids: After any needed medical or surgical hearing intervention has been completed, we can assist with hearing rehabilitation needs. A hearing aid examination can determine the potential benefit from amplification. Hearing aids and other listening devices are selected and dispensed. Follow up hearing aid services are offered under warranty for up to two years from the date of purchase.

List of Brands we sell are:

  • Starkey
  • Beltone
  • Siemens
  • Phonak

Hearing Aid Coverage: Hearing aid services are generally the responsibility of the patient. Medicare specifically excludes hearing aids and related testing for hearing aids from coverage. Medicaid will cover certain hearing aids every three years. Individuals may have hearing benefits under managed care or company plans. Patients will need to check with their insurance for hearing benefit coverage.
